Mumbai: This weekend, the much-loved singing reality show Indian Idol Season 15 on Sony Entertainment Television will ring in the New Year with a special celebration, featuring legendary figures from the music industry—Lalit Pandit, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Sadhna Sargam, along with Sumati Bhattacharya, wife of Abhijeet Bhattacharya, and the evergreen actress Preeti Jhangiani, famously known for her role in 'Mohabbatein'. The episode will honor some of the greatest love songs of all time as the contestants will create a romantic atmosphere and pay tribute to iconic love songs, along with Judges Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya, impressed by Idol ka Doka Phodu performer Chaitanya's rendition of the song 'Ole Ole' gives him a standing ovation and shared a memorable story saying, “This film is called Yeh Dil Lagi, and I had gone to sing its title song. Udit, Lata, and I— the three of us—sang this song. Udit ji and I went for the recording. Adi and Yash ji were there. Then Dilip Sen told me, 'Abhijeet, go and dub one more song.' I don’t know why he made me do it, but the challenge with this song was the same one you faced. It needs to be sung in one breath, or its beauty is lost. A song always belongs to the music director, not the star." He also sang a few lines from the song 'Ole Ole'.
Further, Idol ki Crazy Girl - Manasi, asks Abhijeet Bhattacharya about his opinion, referencing a video where he spoke against singers performing at weddings, despite them singing for public entertainment. Abhijeet Ji replies humorously, "How much will you all scold me? Let me tell you the truth—I didn’t sing at my own wedding because the atmosphere wasn’t right. And in that moment of frustration that I wasn’t singing at my own wedding, my father-in-law didn’t give me money for my suit tailoring! At weddings, there should be soulful songs, but I will definitely sing at your wedding with a band," he jokingly adds. "I, Lalit, Vishal, and Shreya will sing."
When commenting on Idol ki Star Kalakaar Sneha'sperformance on the song 'Bahon mein Chale aao', Abhijeet Da says, "Only those with great luck inherit music, and in this case, you can’t use the word 'nepotism' for them.”
Abhijeet also praises Idol ki Loop wali Awaaz - Biswarup on singing his own song 'Main koi aisa geet' saying, “Before the song even ended, I was already standing. I was listening to it with an open heart. For the first time, someone has done justice to this song.”
