Ramayana Cast Unveiled: Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol & Ravie Dubey Unite for an Epic Cinematic Saga
Director Nitesh Tiwari has officially revealed the ensemble cast of his highly anticipated adaptation of Ramayana. The mythological magnum opus stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

The wait is finally over for fans of Indian epic cinema. Director Nitesh Tiwari (of Dangal and Chhichhore fame) has announced the star-studded cast of his upcoming live-action adaptation of Ramayana—a film expected to redefine mythological storytelling in Indian cinema.
Leading the divine ensemble is Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, bringing a blend of gravitas, charm, and screen presence to the righteous warrior-king. Paired opposite him is the graceful and critically acclaimed Sai Pallavi, playing Sita, marking her first major pan-Indian mythological role.
The casting of Yash, known for his fierce portrayal of Rocky Bhai in KGF, as the multi-headed demon king Ravana has already set social media abuzz. His presence hints at a powerful, layered antagonist performance.
Meanwhile, Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol is stepping into the shoes of Hanuman, a casting that channels both physical might and loyal devotion. And Ravie Dubey, known for his television and OTT work, joins as Lakshman, adding a fresh dynamic to the brotherly bond.

A Vision Beyond Scale
Tiwari’s Ramayana is envisioned as a three-part film franchise, with cutting-edge VFX, practical sets, and a focus on emotional depth alongside grandeur. Filming began quietly earlier this year, with major sequences shot in specially built soundstages and remote Indian locations.
Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios (which worked on Dune and Avatar: The Way of Water), the film aims to achieve global standards in production and storytelling. Sources confirm that motion-capture technology is being used extensively for Ravana’s Lanka and Hanuman’s transformations.
Cultural Responsibility
In an official statement, Tiwari emphasized the importance of handling the epic with respect, authenticity, and narrative integrity, stating:
“Ramayana isn’t just a story—it’s a legacy. We’re trying to bring it to screen in a way that honors its spirit while making it accessible to a global audience.”
