Taylor-Johnson and Eggers previously collaborated on Nosferatu, the 2024 reimagining of the silent horror classic, where Eggers’ unique cinematic language and Taylor‑Johnson’s intense presence created a compelling dynamic. - The film will blend Norse folklore and medieval Christianity, following a tormented soldier returning home from war—haunted by literal and metaphorical demons.
- Set in early 11th-century Europe, it will depict a psychological descent as the protagonist grapples with guilt, bloodlust, and lycanthropy.
- The tone is said to be raw, gritty, and operatic, drawing comparisons to The Witcher, The Revenant, and The Seventh Seal.
